Avast And Dual boot( Debian and Mint)

Running avast on Debian6 fine, then partitioned drive installed Mint Katya as well.

Avast still works fine on Debian6, but tools and help panel is not being installed on Mint, so no access to preferences etc. otherwise works fine!  

Any known reasons?

Same here. On Mint Katya panel only shows Update database and Quit
