Request feature - setting
« on: September 01, 2011, 12:14:28 PM »
hi

sometimes i need to reinstall avast, or maybe to reinstall windows.
so i need to set avast all over again from beginning.

several seting places :
- Avast Setting \ Exclusions
- Scan computer \ scan now \ .. \ Settings \ Exclusion
- Real time shield \ File System shield \ AutoSandbox \ exclusion
- Real time shield \ File System shield \ Exclusion
- Real time shield \ web shield \ exclusion
- Behaviour shield \ Trusted processes
- Firewall \ firewall setting \ Policies \ Packet rules
- Additional protection \ anti spam \ expert setting \ whitelist
- Additional protection \ anti spam \ expert setting \ blackList
- Additional protection \ sand box \ expert setting \ virtualized process
- Additional protection \ sand box \ expert setting \ exclusion
- Additional protection \ auto sand box \ settings \ autosandbox \ excluded from auto sandboxing
- Additional protection \ auto sand box \ setting \ exclusion \
- Additional protection \ site blocking

there's so many seting, take times.
i have suggestion for avast team.

in each seting  u should add 3 tButton / tIconbutton / tBitButton.
 1. Save setting list.
 2. Load setting list.
 3. Insert / append setting list.
it will be more convenient for setup and save times.

the file just in simple csv file (comma separated value).
eg:
filename : FileSystemShieldExclusion.csv
content:
"rwx", "*.dbf"
"rwx", "*.nsx"

  thanx.

Believe it or now we, avast users on the forums have been asking for this for years, and still no export and import settings.

The only recent concession in avast6 was the ability to restore default settings (useful for troubleshooting), but no export/import.

The only thing I can suggest, which is a half a**ed workaround is to save the various avast .ini files in the C:\ProgramData\AVAST Software\Avast folder. This should save many of the user customisations that are generally stored in the .ini files.
