Not scanning files from context menu

Hi,
Recently I've noticed Avast (Version 6.0.1203 - Engine 110904-0)doesn't scan when you access it from the Windows Context menu.
When I click Scan <file name> it instantly says scan complete no threat found. no matter what file the file size (for instance I just scanned one 5.5GB and was greeted with the same result.
It also doesn't show up on the realtime Shields.
Anybody got any thoughts as to what is happening/ fix?
Thanks, Wez.

As said quite a few times here, the scan time is not proportional to the file size - especially for files like movies, the scan is almost instantaneous, no matter how big the file is (and there's nothing wrong about it, it's correct).
