usiGetSkin failed still continue

Hi,

I have upgraded from Avast 4 to 4.5 beta, but my problem, as discussed in this topic:

still remain.  :(

Avast 4.5 beta works fine, especially the mail checker, but I can't open the main window of avast and I can choose my preferences only by manually modifying the avast4.ini file.

Everyone have news on this topic?  ???

If as you say this is usigetskin related, is it not possible to somehow select the no skin option (and hopefully get round the problem temporarily), either through the settings or avast4.ini file?

I'm not sure if this is possible with the avast4.ini customisation, but check out Technical's 'Settings 4.5' in Understanding avast4.ini file and see if it is possible.

Did you try to repair your installation through Control Panel?
Did you try running C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\REGSVR32.EXE ACTSKIN4.OCX and boot after that?
Do you have MS Office? Which version?
