Android Rage Cage Trojan
« on: September 07, 2011, 12:26:39 AM »
I ran my boot scan and Avast said there were 4 Trojans called Android Rage Cage. It asks what I want to do and I chose to either move it to the chest or delete and it says it can't do this. There is an error code  #42111. I ran my virus scan and it's not showing anything. Can someone tell me what this is and how to get rid of it?

Guessing the file detected has to do with Android cell phones

So i guess you have one of these files on your computer

VirusTotal - Rage Root for 1.5 and 1.6.zip - 24/43

VirusTotal - Rage Root for 2.0 2.0.1 2.1 and 2.2.zip - 24/44

I ran the Avast Boot Scan. It gets to 10% then it says there is a Trojan in Downloads Apps/Power 1.1.0 Rage Against The Cage. Is this dangerous? It's not letting me get rid of whatever it is. sorry I am not that tech savvy.

bc what is detected is inside a compressed file...and avast cant rip it out
if this is something you dont need or dont know what is, you can just browse to that file location and delete it, then empty the recycle bin and it is gone

seems to be some kind of program used to modify android cell phones.
If it is actually malware or just detected bc of how the program is made i do not know...

It's detected because it's an exploit. If you downloaded it purposely from a trustworthy site to root your phone, then it's not exactly dangerous. However, there is a dangerous version going around the market.

(I don't know what the forum's policy on jailbreaking is, so remove this if it's breaking rules, but I couldn't find anything saying it was against ToS.)
