ABP client; disable service on a individual client from console

hello All,

is it possible to disable an already installed service (Anitspam, etc..)on a client pc?  i have attempted to disable via the group edit settings in the administrator console with no success.

Yes it's possible!
In my Group I removed the IM, P2P shield and WEB REP.
On clients, this choose was respected
Naturally you must create another group if you want to create different configuration for one or more PC.

What SBC version have you installed?
Wich version of program is installed on client?

Database version 1148
Client version 6.0.1253

I did create a new group with the choosen active and inactive services i wanted.  then moved the two individual clients into this new defined group.  after doing so, they still have the Antispam and couple others service i wanted disabled as active, just like before the move.

1)This two clients are updating the virus definition correctly?
2)You have deployed the program by SBC or installed the Avast managed locally on these PC?
3)All the clients are not responding to your SBC group configuration, or only two?
4)It's possible that there's another security program that block some port on client/server?
5)Your network is on domain or workgroup?

3)All the clients are not responding to your SBC group configuration, or only two?  just seems to be these two.  other clients will take to the groups defined services.
4)It's possible that there's another security program that block some port on client/server?  the windows firewall is disabled, no other antivirus installed.
5)Your network is on domain or workgroup? domain; 2003

Ok. Have you tryed to move one of this work ok pc, to your new group?
If the answer is Yes, this pc take the policy of new group or not?
If the answer of this question is Yes, you can try to reinstall the Avast client program.
If the answer is No, you can try to reinstall SBC console on server..

Probably reinstall the client is the first thing and fast to do..

Another possibility is to try to remove the PC from the console and then trying to add manually or make a search for new PC in the SBC console.

Unfortunately I've not got another idea to solve this problem!  :'(
All my clients respond correctly to any modify on group...

yep, already tried moving them to two new groups with the same result.  i did try the reinstall with the same issues. 

the only thing i haven't tried is completely uninstalling avast client, restarting the pc, and reinstalling.  i'll being performing this next.

I saw (your first post) that you probably you had installed the ADMN before SBC, and then the v4.8 netclient.
A clean install maybe will solve the problem as you going to do  ...I hope
