[6.0.1289] BSOD of aswFW.sys and browsing speed degration
« on: September 14, 2011, 02:38:59 PM »
My system is well known, with TrueCrypt, K9 and avast Internet Security.
TrueCrypt analysis of the BSOD indicates <avast>\Setup\INF\aswFW.sys crash.
Besides, my Internet speed was degraded last week significantly.

Hope the dump help in anyway. Uploaded as Tech.Memory.Dump.aswFW.sys.crash.7z

Tech, you probably know about these 2, but for general info:

1_ if using mini dumps, BlueScreenView: http://nirsoft.net/utils/blue_screen_view.html

There are several others too.

2_ For Application crashes:

http://nirsoft.net/utils/app_crash_view.html.

Of course, Avast devs are very good about crashes too :).

I know that tools.
The first only analyze minidumps and not the full dump.

By the way, I cannot upload the file to ftp regardless I try.
Cannot create the file at the server... What's wrong?

Yes, I specifically wrote both 2 facts :).

Either the ftp is down, a connection problem, your firewall, or the file size of the complete (or kernel) dump is too big (even compressed)?

There were two (small, unfinished) files on the FTP... so the file creation succeeded, the transfer must have been interrupted afterwards.

I've tested three times... Maybe later I could succeed...

I have also experienced a decrement in browsing speed, significant I should say. Let me know if you want any logs or other details.

I've tried disabling 1) Firewall 2) WebShield 3) All Shields.
Things does not go so better. Maybe an interaction between avast 6.0.1289 and other drivers in my computer...  :-\ ::)

I've boot as admin. My Internet speed restored. Something seems fishy in my user account.
Finally I've could manage to update the dump Tech.Memory.Dump.aswFW.sys.crash3.7z

New BSOD with tcpip.sys (occurred twice after sleeping/waking up the computer).
I'll add the TrueCrypt analysis of the dump and I'm uploading it as Tech.Memory.Dump.tcpip.sys.7z
Can anybody analyze the dumps? I'm in favor of uninstalling *any* software that is causing the error as I need it stable back to work. Thanks.

The only change from last week to this one is the avast program update. I was mostly off line due to my father's disease and passed away.

Thanks Tech, I looked at your dump - and please contact lukor, because he's responsible for TDI drivers -- he should find a root problem in your PC. Thanks!

Different BSOD when the computer is stressed (Virtualbox) and high file activity (Mozy, PureSync).
Now it is tdx.sys (after Windows Updates).

Tech.Memory.Dump.tdx.sys.7z is the uploaded dump.
Please, give me some help in order to ask the proper support team product.
I can't manage which application is due to these BSODs.

I was nos suspecting avast, but other threads made me thought...

I have three BSODs since then.
Nobody is saying me nothing about them.
Please, help me!

I've uploaded the three ones: Tech.Memory.Dump1a.7z Tech.Memory.Dump2a.7z Tech.Memory.Dump3a.7z

I've stabilized the computer following this:
1. Uninstall Firefox Tweak addon (https://addons.mozilla.org/pt-BR/firefox/addon/firefox-tweak/).
2. Uninstall K9 (http://www1.k9webprotection.com/).
3. Run netsh int ip reset
4. Run sfc /scannow

I don't know where to ask for help...

Here is another one: http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=85522.msg692772#msg692772

Hey... Trevor will say me: "Hey, Tech, why are you losing time here on forum. Shut up and translate" ;D
Trevor, besides the BSODs while translating, I'm trying to use my night time on it.
You gave us very little time this time ;D
