Update 110915-1, won't update
« on: September 16, 2011, 09:35:09 AM »
Hi,
I have avast Internet Security 6.0.1289. The summary shows virus definitions are out of date, then I manually update and it says it's already updated from 11094-1, but then I click ok and it says it isn't updated. The CPU is going crazy and I ran a boot time scan but there are no threats. I have Windows 7. Is there some issue with this update? I am at a loss, so any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Well, this is embarrassing. I just updated from the desktop gadget and it worked, but this time it was Update 11096-1. Not sure whether there was some problem with the other one, but all is ok now. So this was redundant,  ::)

Well it isn't quite right, 110916-0 is the current VPS, so the screen display isn't quite right or you have made a typo.

Reboot and see if that resolves it.

If not - Try a repair of avast:
Win7 - Control Panel, Programs & Features, uninstall a program, select 'avast! Anti-Virus,' click the Change/Remove button and scroll down to Repair, click next and follow.

You may need to reboot after the repair. This has in the past resolved this out of sync issue between reported and actual VPS version.
