Does Avast support updates via batch?
« on: November 09, 2004, 06:40:58 PM »
I'm looking for a server based AV-scanner that updates itself by connecting to the Internet. Within the LAN no client PC is allowed to access the Internet but should rather connect to the server via batch-file and get the pattern update from there...

Is Avast capable of doing this?

I don't quite understand your question. Why are you talking about batch files? (I mean, what makes batch files so special - you mean like command-line interface)?

BTW in your scenario, the server does have access to the Internet but the workstations don't - and you want to protect both the server and the workstations?

Thanks

Yes exactly. And this is why I want to be able to trigger the update for the clients using a batch-file within the LAN... got it?  ;)
