Do any of you happen to know how long should Auto Maintenance take on windows 8?

I've had it last as long as 1hr 15mins
Obviously, would depend on how much data and how much maintenance needed :)

Edit: I believe most of that time is the Defrag. and usually not that long
Does it have to redo the tasks if I shutdown my computer and restart it another day?

Well 'Auto Maintenance' will start up automatically when appropriate/after you boot up BUT  whether or not it begins all over again, I'm not sure. I've never thought about it.  :-\

It'll reduce hardware requirements so that lower cost hardware can also be used in Windows 8.1 systems.
Trying to catch the XP users ?

Windows 8.1 Update 1 What to expect.

They did one of the things I said in another forum that they should have done from the beginning.

##Ability to detect the hardware and enable appropriate user interface. Metro UI for touch enabled devices and Desktop for PCs.

If Windows 8 would have done that from the get-go, it would have had a much wider acceptance.

All very interesting, are they starting to listen after getting panned - win8.x, still under 10% OS market share and even worse than the initial Vista take up and we know what a lemon that was. Though I don't know if it was ever a hardware issue stopping many XP users from upgrading. Businesses are still heavy XP users and for them it is all productivity/retraining staff.

I see more pushing/revelations for windows 9.0 (2015 possibly even this year) in the media now than windows 8.2 update.

Another Start Menu Button for Windows 8 etc (Till Microsoft makes it official)

Start Menu Reviver 2 offers a better program manager for Windows 8.1
(I'm currently using this on a Windows 8.1.1 32 bit Dell Laptop)

I got a error that said "Display driver igfx stopped responding and has successfully recovered." I tried to update the graphics driver like gateway recommended me to do. But apparantly the driver says "System don't meet minimum requirements" Anybody know if this happens to a lot of people and if there is a way to fix it?

Here is my computer specs if it helps
Gateway NE56R41u
Processor: Intel B960
Graphics: Intel HD Graphics
RAM: 4GB DDR3
HDD: 500GB HDD
OS: Windows 11 64-bit
Webbrowser: Mozilla Firefox
PC Specs: Intel i5-12400f, Nvidia RTX 3050, 16gb ram, 1.5TB SSD(s).

Windows 8.1 update 2 said to arrive on August 12th
Since I'll be in NY at that time, I'll probably need to depend on someone else
to tell me if it's finally returning an actual start menu to Windows 8.
