Anyone trying the Windows 8 Consumer Preview? As soon as I finish the download (2.5GB) I'm going to set up a dual boot to give it a try.

I'm downloading the iso yet and will try in Virtualbox.

It's almost a throwback to Windows 1. Certainly not progress.... IMHO

I heard some people are saying windows 8 is a new beginning for Microsoft windows  so i guess that is why the new logo looks so close to windows 1's logo..

I'm in the process of downloading it on two of my laptops. Unfortunately I'm on the road and the connection here at the hotel is S L O W. 


7 HR's left for the download to finish on one computer and about 9 !/2 on the other......
Maybe by the time I've finished my AM presentation tomorrow, I'll know if all this waiting was worth it.

I've decided to install the update through the following route:

Since I already have windows 8 Dev. Preview on both of these computers I mentioned.

avast7 1407 isn't fully compatible with CP right now (behav shield & sandbox-based features don't wok there)
new avast7 build (expected maybe tomorrow) should be work with CP (old DevPreview build isn't supported anymore)

Just as a point of interest, nothing to do with functionality. Do you know what the fish you see in the middle of the screen while installing the CP is and what it represents?
