I've been trying to set up a HotKey for my "Screensaver" but can't find where the Screensaver files are in Windows/System32??
I've searched computer for> *.scr but nothing comes up.
I had originally found the individual Screensaver files in my Win8 Evaluation version but I cannot remember how I found them. :-\
Any input appreciated. 8)
Search for the name first then scr, eg - bubbles.scr, mystify.scr, ribbons.scr

There all still in Windows/System32 but there hard to spot

Thanks craig.
I eventually tracked down the 'full path' to the screensaver via Regestry: HK/currentuser/controlpanel/screensaver.exe
I then entered that file path in left clicking desktop/New/shortcut.
I then entered the shortcut properties and assigned a "HotKey"  and voila instant sreensaver. ::) 8)

You can use the search function:

Then simply click on the App and open the screensaver.

Instant launch. :)

Thanks Bob. Well I thought for sure if I typed *.scr in 'Search' it would display existing sreensavers and I could then locate the 'full file path' of the screensaver I wanted to use, as I didn't know that( I wanted that so as to enable a HotKey). No such luck :)

You could simply create a shortcut on your desktop and click on it to launch the ScreenSaver of your choice.

For some reason I thought I read somewhere that one could delete 'individual, specific' restore points, but I don't see anywhere to do this.
All I see is an option to delete "all restore points"
Is it possible with Windows8 to delete a(one)restore point while leaving remaining restore points?? ???
Thanks :)

CCleaner will allow you to remove individual restore points.

You can also delete all but the last created restore point:

Evolution of Windows 8
« Reply #310 on: January 04, 2013, 11:57:10 PM »
I found a very interesting, if a bit lengthy, blog posting by Steven Sinofsky on the evolution of the Windows UI. It covers all versions starting with 1.0 and has some revealing and sometimes humorous reminders of how new things are often not accepted well at first. One of the best is this excerpt about the now ubiquitous peripheral known as the mouse.

Quote
•“Mice are nice ideas, but of dubious value for business users” (George Vinall, PC Week, April 24, 1984)
•“There is no evidence that people want to use these things.” (John C. Dvorak, San Francisco Examiner, February 19, 1984)
•“I was having lots of fun, but in the back of my corporate mind, I couldn't help but think about productivity.” (George Vinall, PC Week, April 24, 1984)
•“Does the mouse make the computer more accessible, more friendly, to certain target audiences such as executives? The answer is no.” (Computerworld, October 31, 1983)
•“There is no possibility that this device will feel more comfortable to the executive than the keyboard. Because of its ‘rollability,’ the mouse has the aura of a gimmick…” (Computerworld, October 31, 1983)
•“The mouse and its friends are merely diversions in this process. What sounds revolutionary does not necessarily help anyone with anything, and therein lies the true test of commercial longevity.” (David A. Kay, Datamation, October 1983)

This is a reminder.
You have just 10 days left to get a Windows 8 Pro upgrade for $39.99 as a download from Microsoft.
After 1/31/2013 the price will increase to $199.00

Can the ESD Folder in Win8 be removed/moved to a USB Drive for future use if needed, or does it have to remain in C:Drive?
Input appreciated. :)

Edit: I have the Win8 Installation/Backup DVD
