Power options and an easy way to adjust them in Windows 8
A simple search for Power makes all of these Settings available to you:

It isn't the stupidity of the computer but the lack of knowledge of the operator.  ;)

It adds nothing. They are still learning from all the things included in Classic Shell. :)

StartW8 is a identical replacement for the start menu ( similar to Start8 ) without all the exta un-needed stuff that comes with Classic Shell, you'll notice it's only available for windows 8 as well and doesn't include the OS's, the installer is also only 1.7mb and so far from my testing of it this evening there is no boot to desktop delay that is visible in Classic Shell and Start8.

No delay either if you're using the latest version of Classic Shell which I've now used for almost 1 year. :) Start8 isn't free and therefore not even considered in the mix.  :)

We've had this discussion previously Bob, you cant tell me there isn't a slight delay to desktop with Classic Shell as I've tested all these products and know first hand, just because you don't use it doesn't make it unworthy.

Start8 is also only $5 so that is practically free imo for a more professional product.

I think that's what I just posted ??? $5.00 isn't free, it's cheap in price. I think if you go through this topic, you'll find a review of Start8
and many others like it.
All I've mentioned is the fact that Classic shell has been around a long time (since beta of Windows 8) has never crashed my system
does what it advertises, is totally free and fixes even small glitches quickly.
I didn't knock StartW8 just stated some facts.

I said practically free :) I never said Classic shell causes problems or anything else along those lines, what I did say was that StartW8 as well as Start8 is more true to the traditional windows 7 start menu without all the un-necessary extra features included with Classic Shell and that the slight delay that is visible with both Classic Shell and Start8 is gone in StartW8.

Bob I think you'll also find Start8 has been around as long as Classic Shell if not before and the company itself " Stardock" has been around since the early XP years with multitudes of experience in offering users the ability to add and change features of windows OS's, they've always specialised in this field and there experience shines through and is the reason I stated a more professional product, it is what it states to be " no more no less ".

Start8 was still in beta as of Oct. 2012.
My first post about Classic shell appeared in 4/1/2012:
