- Splash screen after logging to Windows (like ESET does - a nice feature)

- Automatic scan dialog (tray popup window) after plugging an USB drive (built in feautre some other VirusScan products)

- Make Avast Web-Reputation modul compatible with Firefox 8

I don't normally say things regarding what others want. But seriously this one bothers me.

-Os startup = avast splash screen?

I'd really go nuckin futs every time I see this when I start my machine. Even for a second. I'd want to strangle the moron who added this. Lets not go throwing around stuff like this because it is BAD!

Have a nice day =D

Do you refere to:
Avast main GUI -> settings -> basic -> "Show welcome message on Windows boot screen"?

When Avast! 7 will come out, all paid antivirus products will crash and all will want only avast!  ;) will be the cloud technology in free version, too?
if you are so confident in avast, why do you use eset?
1. yet it has better detection rate
2. i dont get heart attack when i see popups
3. i wanted to try out new version 5

1) This is thing I hate in ESET - just really annoying (-1)
2) Small but nice idea (+1)
3) They surely will

Please no splash screen!!! SAS has it...I have it disabled. I hate it. ;D
Keep the GUI the same!!! If it works...don't fix it.  ;D

As far as WebRep goes with Firefox on a rapid fire release plan how could avast keep up? IOW each time FF releases a new version WebRep users will continue to pile on the complaints..."my WebRep doesn't work with Firefox version x.xxx".  ???

Line 17 is the key one ;)

Essentially this file tells FF what the addon is compatible with.

So if it said:

Code: [Select]
<em:maxVersion>7.*</em:maxVersion>
then it would be listed as incompatible in 8 and above.

By making it say:

Code: [Select]
<em:maxVersion>*</em:maxVersion>
it means that it will not report as incompatible with any future version.

avast! WebRep already works with Firefox 8.0 beta.

I know because it works on my computers

You just need to add the Firefox "Add-on Compatibility Reporter" to your Firefox addons.

By the time that avast! 7 is released the Firefox RTW number will be well into double digits.

Firefox 10 is now scheduled for release in Jan 2012.

Hello everybody from Spain! I know you should not get to a place and start asking for things but because you give us this opportunity we must seize it!

Tip 1:

Backing up files. Include a file backup module .

Tip 2:

Detailed reports on threats encountered. Avast simply reports that it has detected a threat and has neutralized it. Avast also tells you the name of the found threat but does not give you more information. I'd like if it's possible that avast development team in future versions of avast antivirus offers fully reports support  about found Threats.

Tip 3:

PLEASE include a PASSWORD MANAGER! like Sticky Password which is used by KAV. Other security solutions includes them and that gives much value to the program. This improvement is probably the most important for me.

Tip 4:
Reply emails sent to virus@avast.com:

I would like that you respond to users who send malware samples from the virus lab.

On several occasions, I have sent emails with virus samples to the email address virus@avast.com and have never been answered. I think the "communication" is one of the keys to success of any product.

For everything else that I am delighted with AVAST and i'd like that you continue in this line to improve day by day.

Thank you for your attention.

Best regards.

I would like to see the "Memory" scan modified so that it doesn't identify other programs' virus definitions in memory as "Infected Files"  Other programs are able to do this so 4sure Avast programs should be able to do this safely. :)
