when opening or saving a file from email like a JPG or DOCx file, why doesnt avast open it up in the sandbox if autosandbox is enabled?

Well that would depend on if avast thought it was a risk, obviously it didn't.
Iv only ever had the auto sandbox notify me about one thing and that was when installing DAPlayer, if you want the full features of a sandbox you can either install sandboxie which is free or upgrade to the Pro version of avast.

Yeah, autosandbox keys on executables.  If you want to open things in Avast!'s sandbox deliberately, thats what the on-demand sandbox in the paid versions is for.

i noticed that if i use the "run a virtualized process" in the sandbox option of avast (IE of Firefox), if i try to open or download a Docx file it will not open because im in a virtualized browser. Is it suppose to do this? If not do u know how to fix this?
