[Solved] Did you have any problem with Firefox v7.0.1
« on: October 06, 2011, 11:58:47 AM »
G'day all,

Did you have any problem with Firefox v7.0.1 using the website called Shields UP! when testing the "Common Ports" section, and it seem that FF doesn't seen to support the test and it didn't finished the Common Ports test when using the Outpost Firewall could someone please test it for me for those who have FF v7.0.1

Thank you.

I wouldn't have though the browser would have anything to impact on how it works, more what security based add-ons or security settings you have in firefox 7.0.1.

I just tried it and no problems at all. Since I also have Outpost, I would say there is something in your settings.

Your firefox security settings are the same as mine.

I would try disabling better privacy or if it has an option to whitelist shields up.
I had nothing but problems with Ghostery and removed that many months ago.
I don't know how SSL Guard works or if shields up actually used https at any point.
I also don't know what BrowserProtect does.

What you could try is running firefox safe mode, no add-ons and see if that gets through.

I can't recall ever having seen this and I don't know why even in firefox safe mode it doesn't work. I don't know if you have changed any of your refresh settings.

Isn't there an F.A.Q. on shields up for errors like this ?

Solved I had a major backup error from MozBackup when I restore all my entire backup when over written to FF v7.0.1, and I had to restart from scratch loading all my add-ons

MozBackup v1.5.1 wasn't compatible with FF v7.0.1 for backup and restore and MozBackup website still showing the old version, so keep this in mind when using the latest FF version.

I don't backup firefox using MozBackup v1.5.1, I use FEBE to do backups, plus my weekly drive imaging software backup.
