A Safezone icon appeared on my desktop why?
« on: October 07, 2011, 05:37:01 AM »
For some reason i have an icon that says "chromium" and its a picture of a the safezone browser for avast on my normal desktop. It is the chrome browser and takes me to the safezone page. Why is the safezone browser on my normal desktop and not soley dedicated to the safezone virtualized environment like it is suppose to be? To me this is a major issue. When ever i use the safezone browsing environment, is it mirrored in my normal desktop environment? I do not have chrome installed on my pc. Also, my virualize protection is not working, when i try to run my browser virtualized, it does nothing. Can someone please help me?

You are not the only person this has happened to.

Uninstalling avast, and running aswclear in safe mode got rid of that problem for me, but then the problem I had was that safezone contents wouldn't reset.

To solve that I also had to manually delete the ###aswSnx privatestorage folder in safemode (as suggested by the program developer in another thread).

Hope this works for you.

Edit - of course you also have to reinstall avast!
