Hi David,

I found something interesting... I think this would be a clue to find a solution... However I just disabled avast! Firewall NDIS Driver from my Local Area Connection properties. Now my PC working as the first time without having any performance issues.

Do you have any suggestions mate? Would it be something with avast! Firewall?

Thanks for sparing much time mate :) You get nothing in return but I wish you to have all the success with you... :)

Cheers...

Since I don't use the avast Internet Security version, I can't really comment on the firewall as I have no personal experience of it.

You don't say what setting you have on the firewall, Home, Work, Public, etc. Having on a higher setting will increase its protection and consequently its resource use, in order low to high it is Home, Work, Public.

I have selected Home setting for my avast! Firewall mate. Didn't touch any setting after reinstallation and never did for Firewall.

You're welcome.

If having selected Home setting for the firewall I would have thought it wouldn't be too concerned with your Local Area Network Connections, so I don't believe that is the cause of any degradation. I believe in your comment "I just disabled avast! Firewall NDIS Driver from my Local Area Connection properties." I don't know if that just disabled the avast firewall.

So I would re-enable that and did into the task manager and see what is using the lions share of your CPU resources.

Hi DavidR,

Just switched to avast! FREE Antivirus (As My License Got Expired for AIS, Two Days Ago) and COMODO Firewall. Now my PC doing really great... I have no problem with performance and browsing yet. Hope this will be a good mix. Let's see...

AND I checked my processes and CPU usage when I have AIS, but couldn't find any critical processes or Peak usage of CPU...

Do you have any recommendations mate? :) nice to hear from you...

Thanks AGAiN... :)

Cheers...

Good combo no worries. I´ve been using Avast and Comodo Firewall & D+ for the past 4 years with minor problems.

Regards.

Ya Mate Thnx for that :) But I don't use CIS, coz avast! has the best detection rate and mechanisms. It clears all in boot time scan... My friends have experienced many problems with COMODO AV and AVG coz sometimes they unable to block some threats before get infected. However I ll try avast! IS (Trial) on next program update and see if it works. If it works then go purchase :)

Cheers...
