Trouble Re-Registering

When my avast updates it says my registration will expire in 22 days. When I clcik on register now another window opens that asks if I want the free or the paid version,,,when I select the free version nothing at all happens,,

Likely to be server busy, you can use the old off-line registration method:
Web site (Off-line) Registration rather than using UI Registration see support.avast knowledgebase article 612 Off-line registration.

Yea just did that,,have to wait til it gets sent to me,,thanks for your quick reply. Says it may take up to 24 hrs,,does it really usually take that long?? Hope it doesn't. I hate when I have any small problems with a computer,,,lol. Guess what,,,I no sooner modified this message and the e-mail was delivered,,,everythings back to normal,,for a novice like me thats a relief. Thanks Avast

Yes, normally it is very quick almost automatic, I guess the 24 hour notice is to prevent multiple registration attempts if it doesn't arrive immediately as you found.
