Avast Free for NGOs?
« on: October 14, 2011, 04:38:41 PM »
Use avast on my personal machines and love it.
I am helping out an NGO with their IT setup and would like to introduce them to it too.
Could someone from Avast confirm that NGOs can use the free version?
Upon registering, the form only offers to select between home or business use, and redirects to the paid versions if you select 'business'...

Many thanks in advance!

I'm not from avast, but I doubt they would fall within the terms of use for the free version.

So no they can't, the avast free version is for Home and non-commercial use and an NGO (Non Government Organisation) falls outside of that permitted use.

The NGO is essentially business use, the business doesn't have to be profit making, etc. charities, schools (though I believe there is a schools discount), etc. all should be using the avast Pro for business use.
