definition updates over wi-fi?
« on: October 17, 2011, 12:19:42 AM »
I've got avast on a laptop connected to internet using wi-fi N and am abit worried about the integrity of definition updates over wi-fi?

Does avast 6 verify the integrity of definition updates, be it auto or manual update, using for example, a built in checksum?

Thanks

Hi ,

Not to worry.it is safe .Avast will update its definitions only from the Avast server.
By default, avast will get automatically updated.

Yes avast checks the integrity of the update I can't recall the exact method but it is checked/validated.

EDIT: See image extract (click to expand) of an update in the setup.log file.
