Instructions are in the Beta subcategory of this forum category.
But as I said - it won't be sooner than tomorrow.

I'll post a heads up to this thread to let you guys know its' ready.

Thanks
Vlk

Good news guys

I'm 99% sure we've found (and fixed) the problem. There's a beta refresh coming out tomorrow and I'd like to ask everyone experiencing the shutdown crashes to try it.

Luckily, we've been able to catch the event in a debugger - and actually understood what what was causing it. Cool!

Cheers
Vlk

This is great!  it just happened to me again and it is ashserv.exe.  No log is produced but it's one of the errors that goes:

"the memory at address xxxx could not be read".

Glad to hear you guys have a handle on it - you're certainly faster than Symantec is. :)

OK here's a description of the beta that should solve the problem http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=10806.0
If you don't have the balls to install a beta (there's really not much to worry about though), the relase build is scheduled to be released in about 2 weeks.

Thanks
