Have you shut your computer completely down since you have been having this problem? If not try it, if so, still try it again.

P.S. : here in Germany now it is 5 AM
P.P.S. : I go to bed now .We can continue tomorrow good night at all  ;)

That's not the full error message.  We need to know exactly what is says... Have you tried to change that TIMEOUT FOR INTERNET COMMUNICATION number is avast! On-Access Scanner, clicking on Internet Mail provider in a left panel, and then on a CUSTOMIZE button on the right panel ? Click on my signature at the bottom of my post to see detailed info on how to do it... Set that number high, let's say to 300 or 400.

See what happens after that and post back...

BlackSheik, let's try to focus in your trouble and solve it... Blaming here against avast won't make it easy. Look, we all have avast and we can send, receive mail, browse, etc... You're not lucky, just this, let's try to solve your problem...

Did you try disabling the firewall? ou use another email program?

Hello experience mailing problems with mails larger than 10kb under Pegasus Mail

Here are the results: Nothing worked so far. The error that occurs is remaining the same. Large mails (over 10kb) did not come through.

Here are the facts:
a) It cannot be the firewall because when I shut it down the same error happens
b) It can not be Pegasus because when I shutdown the avast internet mail scanner everything works perfectly
c) It can not be wrong settings in some programmes because small mails come through even with enabled avast mail scanner

I tried with the 127.0.0.1 as well as pop.provider.com settings. I believe it is either depending on special settings of the avast.ini in the data folder or changes to ashmaisv.exe itself who has problems handling larger emails.

I tried very much but nothing helped so far. The error stays the same. Has someone a donwload link (URL) vor me that I can download an earlier version of avast before 4.5.xxx? so a 4.1 +x (e.g. 4.4.x) Version (published before 09.11.04) as the "old" avast worked very fine with Pegasus on my computer. Perhaps I can make some compares (settings and other things) to find a solution (perhaps I find what is wrong then I will publish it here immediatelly as a tryout tip). That would be great.

Furthermore I have made all setting change proposals but the result stays the same. Meanwhile I believe it is due to the ashmaisv.exe that causes the problems (setting changes in the ini have no effect to the error). So I would be glad to have a URL to download the "old" 4.1 version. Can anyone help me to get a download URL. Thank you.

Well, holgerkaengu, you posted about this problem in another thread (exactly same post)... see here:
http://forum.avast.com/index.php?board=2;action=display;threadid=8730;start=msg72393

...why wasting precious forum space and confusing technical staff ? ...so please let's stay on this topic untill we finish with BlackSheik's problem. This way it will be a mess. 5 different problems in one thread... which one will have priority ? It's not easy this way... I'm sure someone will answer in your thread as well...

Thaks for understanding.

Holgerkaengu, there isn't such a URL for download as avast servers were updated with the new one.

I have Pegasus Mail and it is working fine, both sendind and receiving.
I still bet in the firewall. Which one do you use? Can you uninstall it and try?

You can't try 127.0.0.1 without using AutoRedirect=0 into avast4.ini file.

If your getting error messages, why not post a screen shot? A picture is worth a thousand words and it has no language barrier. ;D

Ok - here is the rough translation:

Error : send mail
sending of mail failed

The mail could not be sent, because no connection to SMTP-Server mail.gmx.net could be established. The server is not available or rejects SMTP connections.. Please check Your SMTP settings, and try again, or contact Your system administrator.

hope it helps
