AIS doesn't move infected file to Virus Chest

I'm using a backup program, Second Copy, which regularly backs up files in selected folders to another disk. If there occasionally happens to be a virus in a file among those that's being copied, AIS pops up and says it has moved the file to The Chest. However, it's only the copy that's copied to the destination drive that's being moved to The Chest, AIS doesn't remove the original file on the source drive.

Yes, and that removes it. The problem is however not how to remove it, but that it doesn't remove the original file but only the copy, when copying.

i meant an on demand scan of the original file.if the infection in the original file is detected in an on demand scan,then avast may be able to remove it.
also,you can try malwarebytes on demand scanner(which has superb detection and removal capabilities) in addition to avast.

Well I am talking about the orignal file. I have no problems removing it manually, either by on demand scan or simply by trying to open the file - in both cases Avast catches it and throws it into The Chest. It's when the file is copied by Second Copy that Avast only throws the copy into The Chest.

It's not a big problem since Avast will catch it in any case if you try to run the file, I think however it should remove both the original and the copy. But maybe that's not possible technically, I don't know.
