Unsecure????

 ???I have Advast free for my Windows XP & quite often lately it will come up as unsecured in the tray at the bottom of my screen by the orange Advast ball. Today it says it's secure, yesterday it said it was unsecured. When it says it's unsecured, I go into Avast to see why, & when I do it says it's secure. I am confused. Can someone explain this discrepancy? Thank you.

Hi,

   Make sure that you updated the avast! to the latest definition.
   Plus remove all other securiy softwares if you have in the computer.

Have you removed all remnants of previous AV's ? removal tools for most AV's supplied here http://thewebatom.net/uninstallers/security-software/ once any leftovers have been removed with a reboot after each please do a repair of avast via remove programs and reboot again, test and let us know if your problem is fixed or not.
