Registry scan
« on: January 15, 2012, 09:21:50 PM »
Just bought Avast after being shown that my registry is corrupt, my question is, will Avast scan the registry? and will it fix any errors it might find?

Welcome to the forum.
What do you mean by corrupt ??? Any error messages ???

avast! is an antivirus program not a registry cleaner.
It scans the registry for possible infections but has nothing to do with
fixing the registry.

Unless you'r an expert, the registry is probably the last thing you
should be messing with.
One mistake in the wrong place and your system may not start.

they wanted to charge me 400.00 for 5 programs thats would fix the problem....I said NO, I will reformat the hard drive first and just re-install windows and start all over again

Have you tried uninstalling your printer, disconnecting the printer
from the computer, rebooting, and then re-installing the printer ???

Thanks for letting us know.
Two posts by the same user on the same subject is never good only wastes time and
duplicates efforts.  :(
