i just installed this Beta. one thing that i'll report at this early stage -- maybe it will have significant consequence -- is that the "restart" button does not restart but rather powers off.

Installed 6.0.1356 over 6.0.1289 no problems. Computer re-started ok, only thing I noticed was that update box showed new update as unknown.
Thanks Avast!

Since I had this "unexpected shut down error (6008)" with version .1352 everytimes a new def update came in I reverted to version .1289 again and it was OK.

Now I tried .1356 as an over thetop update.
The error is immediately back after the first def update!  :o :o :o

Came back to .1289 and observing the system now. After the next update this evening I will report back!

Edit: First big def update of .1289 to current status folowed by a reboot did not show the 6008 error in the event viewer.

Had all sorts of update problems with the previous betas and had to go back to 1289. This one seems to have fixed it. :)

Andrey,pro,

"A special feature of the Professional Edition is PUSH updates. It is a dramatic change in the philosophy of updates. Usually, every installed program checks occasionally for new version availability. PUSH updates, however, are initialized by our server; they result in your computer quickly responding and performing the necessary update. The system is based on the SMTP protocol (as used for e-mail messages). The update itself is controlled by the avast! resident e-mail clients (MS Outlook and Internet Mail). The whole system is protected by asymmetric ciphers and is resistant to unauthorized misuse"

This function is in 6 versions of paid products Avast?
