Phishing links and possible malware
« on: November 22, 2011, 10:24:59 PM »
When I was using Vkontakte I saw some links which directs to phishing sites. I didn't click those links, but I opened a music page, where was links to those phishing sites. I have heard that social networking malware can spread even by pointing a cursor to the links without clicking them. I don't know is it true, but anyway I ran Avast, Malwarebytes and Hitman Pro scans and they found nothing serious. Here's the logs as attachments.

Hi EagleGhost,

Was in the news here: http://www.publiciti.ru/en/news/7attention-phishing-personal-information-of-vkontakte-users-in-danger-due-to-phishing-website-vkontaksteru41  link author: Dennis NAMAROV

The logs should be analyzed by a qualified malware remover here like essexboy,

Cybersecurity is more of an attitude than anything else. Avast Evangelists.

Use NoScript, a limited user account and a virtual machine and be safe(r)!

Monitor it for a day or so if  nothing untoward occurs run OTL and press the cleanup button
