Transferring Avast to a new PC
« on: November 24, 2011, 12:30:43 PM »
I know I cannot use the same paid for version of Avast on more than 1 PC without paying extra. But what happens if I buy a new PC and want to remove Avast from the old one to install it on the new one? It has some 18 months to run still.

Also how do I uninstall Avast when it refuses because it warns it is still in use?

You can remove it from the old one, install avast on the new one and use the existing license. There is no restriction on that, it is just the number of active licenses in use.

Only installed on 1PC at a time and used on that PC.
Not installed on multiple PCs but only using one at a time.
Windows 10 Home 64bit/ Acer Aspire F15/ Intel Core i5 7200U 2.5GHz, 8GB DDR4 memory, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD/ avast! free 24.3.6108 (build 24.3.8975.762) UI 1.0.801/ Firefox, uBlock Origin, uMatrix/ MailWasher Pro/ Avast! Mobile Security

Save the License.avastlic file to a Flash drive or CD then copy it to the new PC.
