Full Scan Problem
« on: November 27, 2011, 01:09:17 PM »
I've been using AVAST for a few months, satisfactorily. Just two, related, questions...

1. I run a weekly full scan. At first all went well. The last couple of scans have shown up:"Error: Archive is password protected" on several files. How can I arrange for AVAST to get access to these files, assuming it is desirable to do so?

2. I can't see any way of setting up an automatic scheduling of the weekly full scan, referred to above. I have to initiate each scan manually. Am I missing something?

Thanks, in anticipation of some advice on these subjects...

You can't get access to these files, but it's nothing to worry about.

Hi WillFred, welcome to the forum :)

1. avast! cannot know the password to the archives, so it will not be able to scan it. avast is just reporting that to you.

2. Open avast -> Scan now -> Find "Full System Scan" -> Click "More details" to expand it -> Click "settings" -> "Scheduling" tab

Thanks Scott.
As I'm using the German version, I didn't have the right terms at hand. ;)
