Hard to lighten up as you say when you loath, detest, hate social networking and the invariable scams that come with them.

I am a new user of 7.0 and I just thought I would add my 2 cents that the market tab should be optional. Alternatively, it is OK for the FREE AV, but once paid, the tab should become optional or removed all together... Otherwise, I am very pleased with 7.0.

You can deactivate it: open GUI --> Settings --> Community --> uncheck "Show avast! recommendation features"
