Lee, IE and its clones (Maxthon, Green Browser, Avant...) have a plugin for it (IESpell).

Other suggestions:

1) Non-read posts by the user and the option for choosing which boards you want to 'subscribe'. With one buttom, the user could see all 'non-read' posts in avast forums togheter.

2) Possibility to hide: avatars, pictures, signature, etc. Will help the dial up users.

3) Themes.

4) Send the new post contents in the notify email

5) Possibility to block IM

I know MAC, and it is my understanding Alwil will switch to SMF as soon as the official release comes out. (expected at the end of this month according to the rumours)

I asked this as a "How do I do this?" question ages ago, and at least a couple of others agreed it would be handy if the new software will permit it.

If you're in a forum and hit the "Mark as read", how about getting moved back to the "parent" list at the same time?  "Mark as read" presumably means you're done with that forum for the time being and want to move on to others.

(Edit) Thought of another one, that a lot of boards have -- show date and time of your previous visit to the forums.

Here is my wish:

If it's possible, it would be great to have FRIENDS LIST or BUDDY LIST close to our INBOX.

Right now, having IGNORE LIST in our INBOX preferences is great feature, but we are missing BUDDY LIST...

Sometimes,  inside these forums, it's very hard to search for some people to whom we want to send IM. Having a BUDDY list would make it a lot easier and lot faster IMHO.

Thanks !

Here is a tough one.

I would like to see the board to be cleaned up.

Too many threads are having the same questions and answers, makes it hard for novices to find things.

I read in another thread (see I can't find it) a suggestion of having some threads with known issues, suggestions or help that are probably relevant to many.  There would be no way for anyone but the original poster, moderator, or those "in the know" to post to it.  That way the information doesn't get cluttered with so many different folks problems or questions.  It wouldn't prevent a person from responding to the information, but their post somehow would not be seen.  All moderators could use those outside posts to further give information to the said thread.
I know I often start reading something of interest to me and buy the time it gets on down to 3 or 4 pages, I have no idea what's going on.
But don't do away with individual posts either.
Easier said then done I suppose.
Well, just a suggestion and I know I do my own amount of cluttering.

I agree with Eddy's .....Clean Up the Forum idea.
