The list of commands is inside the Anti-Theft part of the application.

You will be able to turn off the notification icon in the next beta refresh.

I'm using Avast Internet Security on my PC and I would Love Avast on my Galaxy S2 but I would like the option to run the scanner on demand.
You see... I'm not always connected so I don't really need real time scanner enabled ALL the time, just when I'm online.
Will you add the option to disable the shields as user request on next builds?
Right now I'm using Dr. Web lite just because it can be disabled and run only when I need it.

If you are concerned about battery life, try the application first and see for yourself if the battery consumption increases with avast! installed.

I guess you didn't read the post. I'm NOT concerned about battery life, I just Don't want an AV/Firewall running all the time when it is not needed. Simple.
If my phone is off-line most of the time there is no need for that particular type of program to be running in the background too.
I like to use my phone so I charge it every night to make sure I have battery during the day, I also plug it to my USB at work some times If I need extra juice so again, NO, Battery life is not a concern.

I see no battery use by avast when it's idle which is most of the time.

I just saw the notice over at Wilders. Happy news!!

Could you describe a little bit about the firewall - can it control ports and protocols? Both directions?
Is a firewall really needed on Android which is a take on Linux, which has no open ports?
Can the unneeded features be not installed (for instance phone-related things on a tablet that's only wi-fi)?
Does the AV section see bad stuff before or after it installs?

Is there a writeup someplace, so I would not have to bug you with such questions?

Firewall on android is not like firewall on Windows. In fact a lot of things is just what a framework allows to the developer. And in case of andorid, it's just enable, block, wifi only, 3G only and roaming control. You can't control ports or protocols as its not necessary really.
Besides, why would you even bother with ports on a phone?

Simple. Security like I learn over at Wilders. I don't know Android, but learning, and indeed, other than loopback and a heap of google connections, there are no open ports like in Windows. I have a tablet. It's not a phone. Unless some tethering is done to a phone.
