Panic button
« on: December 20, 2011, 08:10:09 PM »
Hello Avast-Team!

It would be very nice if you can implement a "Panic Button" on Android.
My Idea:
On the Homescreen is a widget or a link to a app which lock your phone when you are in panic.
Maybe you'r on street and you'r feeling followed by someone or something like that.
And when you press the panic button, your phone is locked and the siren begins to play a loud sound.

I think this is a good idea and it would be nice if you can integrate it :-)
Thanks!

Hi!
I think it would be a good option, when you press on the panic button, that you lock your phone like a "LOST or LOCK" command via SMS, so the phone is locked an the siren is activated :-)
Would you consider to implement my idea? :-)

Yeah I know what you mean, but let's say it was a false alarm - how would you like to unlock it?

And if you didn't set up any? ;)

But sure, we may consider doing this sometimes in the future.

It would be really great :-)

I mean you can integrate it in the Anti-Theft module, there you must set a code ;-)

It seems to be an interesting idea and may be useful sometimes. I would like to give +1 to this  ;D

Continuing to develop this idea: what if button had some settings? For eg. option to lock the phone and sound alarm or (depending on situation like you'r on street and you'r feeling followed by someone or something like that or worse one) to dial preset emergency number like 112 in a single press. Just idea for the case you really need to panic, because the idea to lock the phone and not to call for emergency may be not the best option in some cases  :)

Well, I think we're talking about a widget, aren't we?
I think customization will allow different widgets, otherwise, you need to wait a lot of clicks and this is not a panic button :)

Maybe :) Yet, "call emergency" instead of "lock my phone and sound alarm while I am running from someone in a middle of the night" panic button looks as wise option too :D
