What is the deal with our TA "unbound" licenses?
« on: December 08, 2011, 03:28:49 PM »
(First of all, I am a new forum member (Hello!), but have been a TA user for a few months)

I am sure many of us are interested in this same question.

Any of us whom purchased an unbound license are basically out of luck since Avast bought them out and is now offering their Mobile Security product for free (currently)?

Is there any talk about us TA "unbound" license holders to get a AMS license if the product goes paid?

so what you're saying, we through our money down the drain. It saddens me that loyal TA costumers aren't privileged in any way over the free users.

I can agree with that actually, we paid for it so we should have some kind of privilege but its not that much of a deal.

Free online control of Theft Aware, where nonpaying customers can't use it.
Just some small extras tweaks/ options, like a PRO version.

Interesting, but I highly doubt that this will happen.
It's free for everyone now. That's just the way it is. ;)

Yes, I understand what you want.
Still, I've never seen any complaints about providing (good) software for free before. ;D

Perhaps not but the thing is that we paid for this once. I myself bought it not long and now its suddenly free after it moved to Avast.

Ok, you paid for it and now it's free. Where's the problem..??
Such things happen all the time in the IT industry, but usually more often vice versa. ;D

1 more thing I thought of,

The product currently is free, and is planned to be in the future.
But, as you know, plannend isn't allways reality.

Lets say that in the future it will become a pay app, Avast doesn't have a list of people who did pay for the initial app. Therefor they can't know who has the right to keep the service for free.

They know we hate applications that become shareware after being released for free.
avast never did this.
On contrary, features paid were moved to the free version to help users and increase security.
The best things in life are free.
