Avast program stopped

I did a system restore and now the Avast program has been stopped and I can not get it to restart.  Suggestions?

Are you using the server AV..??

Ok, so you're not using the server AV and just posted in the wrong section. ;)

Repair avast:
1. Control Panel - Add/Remove programs - avast!
2. Scroll down and click on 'Repair'.
3. Follow instructions.

Ok, this happened to me too. did everything you said. repair doesn't work and neither does update. what now?
