1.0.1069 - Scan of apps speed reduced dramatically on locked screen

I have noticed interesting behavior - I have started normal scan (scan apps), it started, but it stops when screen goes to sleep and it continues when screen is unlocked again. More strange is what it does not affects SD scan - on SD scan I can see other percentage of scan completion, on apps scan it is the same I saw before screen locked (went to sleep). Maybe someone else was able to replicate the same behavior?  

Edit: it does not stops, but it's speed reduces dramatically. From 10% to 18% takes more than 5 minutes. When device screen is turned on scanning speed boost and it's completed within minute. None of antivirus solutions I've tried acted like now. Screen on or screen off should not have any impact on scan speed.

I can reproduce it on my Samsung Galaxy S (2.3.3).  Thanks for the report.

I'll talk to Jan tomorrow about this, but I actually think this is intended behavior to save the battery. We might make it optional sometimes in the future.

Dont know how its handled on the galaxy S, but there might be a cpu governor included, which automaticly downclocks the cpu to reduce battery consumption  while the screen is locked.

I have tried several security solutions before - Kaspersky, Dr.Web, Lookout, ESET. None of them acted like this after screen turns off. The user initiated scan was going on full speed even in background. So I doubt it's a phone related behavior.

As I said, this is not to drain your battery from our side, not a device specific bug. We might change it the other way around if request by community or maybe make it optional.

OK, it's not a problem to tap a screen a few more times until full scan completes
