why does aswmbr cause BSods?

just asking is there is a problem with aswmbr i ran it before on my clean machine and causes BSOD....i have also ran it on few more machines same results....

why does this happen?

I have never had a problem with it on either of my XP and win7 systems, and of the many that have used it for real in the viruses and worms forum, I can't recall any BSODs.

However, you don't give any information about at what point it gave the BSOD, nor do you say what scan was applied on the AV scan: Quick, C:\ [...] or None ?

You also don't say what version of aswMBR you were using ?

i download it from the actual site it causes BSOd for me on some temp file....for a another system i recall it caused on atapi.sys

Running it without the AV scan: element set to None may allow it to complete.

the problem is that i have to stop using it in my business as i have 3 to 4 infected computers that has crashed due the BSOD caused my aswmbr and i have to repair it via a repair disk so its a double work for me  :'(

i will try what u said davidR and report back but if this doesnt fix it i will have to stop using it...Thanks for your attention to this topic!  :)
