You're welcome.

I would say if you get to 20% free space you need to take action (repartition or new larger hard drive), some would say more. But that for me would be the bare minimum and given you have image backup software it would be an easy task to fit the new drive with larger partition sizes and restore the partition images.

Depending on the frequency of your backups with acronis, you could disable System Restore altogether. Are you saving the backups in a separate partition (a different physical disk would be better, if possible)?

About avast, I would recommend downloading the latest stable version (of the same edition Free/Pro/AIS you are currently using) again. Then run the installation (as administrator if possible). Once the installation finishes, please reboot.

The re-installation (just over the current one) probably will solve most problems with your previous program update.

That is certainly an option (one I forgot) as I disabled System Restore over 9-10 years ago when I started using drive imaging software. I do a weekly full partition backup for C:\ my Data partition and backup to my second internal drive.

Though if you (the OP) were to periodically clear out system restore it wouldn't grow so large.

Hi,

I have the same problem. I restarted PC after updating to 6.0.1367, system didn't start.

I did clean uninstall then, as described in this thread. Then I downloaded install pack of the newest version (6.0.1367], installed it and everything OK. But after restart system didn't start again.

The same problem I had with version 6.0.1289 so i used previous version and patiently waited for newer one. But here we go again...

Finally i managed PC to the state when everything is working except of Avast.

Any idea? thanks

That's what I'll do. I hope Santa Claus will have in his hood a very large HDD. :P

I back-up my system partition C: on Acronis secure zone located on another disk drive once a month and from time to time I clone the whole disk when needed.

 Have a nice christmas !!!
