Secure Your Account
It looks like you downloaded software that is affecting your Facebook account and showing you unauthorized ads. We'll walk you through a few steps that will remove the software and secure your account.

It's common for people to be tricked into running programs that offer features that aren't available on Facebook, such as adding custom themes or seeing who has viewed your profile.
What is Adware?
This software will show you spammy ads that aren't approved by Facebook. They can also introduce security vulnerabilities, slow down your computer, and clutter up your news feed with ads so that you end up missing content from your friends.

If you open facebox in the sandbox then nothing will be saved to your disc

I can see no apparent sign of malware in the logs

Are you experiencing any problems ?

So it will not let you go to your account unless you run it ?

Sounds weird to I.  Yep run it in sandbox

I will check out facebook myself to see if I get it

I have several Facebook accounts and have never received that popup
on any of the accounts. It isn't something being offered by Facebook.

The following might be of some help:

Don't many of these come from so called facebook friends inviting you to visit/join/click sites/others/links, etc. etc. Social Engineering, as mentioned in the OPs first post.

But it is strange that it happens before you actually have logged in. So is there a possibility that it is a misguided legit offer that looks like common social engineering scams (as facebook are in bed with McAfee) ?

Perhaps there is another push to hoover up more users.

No as soon as I log in it takes me to the secure your account screen, so how do I open in sandbox and when I open in sandbox can I down load that stupid mcafee thing to scan? I have changed my password, I dont participate in any of the games or apps. I basically post news and vids,
my friend found the following under the facebook security/ help known problems logging in

(((( When I log in to Facebook, I see a message telling me I have a virus and need to scan my computer with McAfee software.

You're seeing this message because we detected suspicious patterns in the way your account was being used. These patterns suggest that you computer might be infected with malware. In order to keep both your account and the files on your computer secure, your computer needs to be scanned and cleaned. Since we partner with McAfee, you can do this for free by logging into Facebook and following the on-screen directions. Learn more about McAfee.

So my assumption is they are in bed with mcafee so any ideas how to get back into my account??

Looks like the only way is to give in to the blackmail and run the McAfee scanner
