mail for registration
« on: December 30, 2011, 10:55:40 AM »
Hi

I use avast free version and yesterday it said
I should register and I did. But this time
the email with the serial did not arrive.
It has now been 24 hours and still no mails yet.
I have a
aol.com mail and I have windows 7 ultimate on a pc.

What shall i do??

How to get the mail faster and is there a
minimum u put on how long it will take to recieve it?

By the way I also have a gmail if that will
get me the code faster because now my system
has been unprotected for a little longer than
I wanted.

For avast 5 or 6, use

"Avast main GUI -> maintenance -> registration".

Then fill in the respective form and send the info.

Uisng the built-in registration form you shouldn't need to wait for any email.

Are you sure you are sending the full information? (It is still possible there is some problem, but I'm just checking that your steps are correct.)

Yes i am shure i did it right.
How can i enter a serial number that i do not have?
Ur toturial says to enter a serial
but in my case the serial did not appear
because the serial is only in the mail
which u still did not send me.
So shall i change to gmail ?

If you actually read the article and followed the instructions, you will see exactly how to proceed next year with the online registration, and exactly where the dates information is shown.

As before (and please, I don't want to keep spoonfeeding), the same place shows the info:

Avast main GUI -> maintenance -> registration -> "current registration will expire on: xxxxxxx"

So, all is fine now. Enjoy avast :).
