Hello Avast-Team!

Is it possible to activate the GPS automaticle in Android 4.0.x ?

Yes, if you're mobile could be rooted, have GPS and has the automatic enable function available.

Well... without root, the telephone is the thief hands. If he/she is a pro, well, you have very few time to do anything.
But, I have not tested yet, but I think you can enable the GPS even if your phone is not rooted (useful in cases of lost and not stolen).
In January we will have a web platform to follow all avast installations.

Hi,

to get the right information, you would need to post this question into the Anti-Theft part of the forum, but as far as I know from the guys there, the GPS can't be remotely enabled on non-rooted Android OS versions 2.3.x where x is a number I can't remember right now :) So I suppose it won't be available on 4.x as well, sorry.

Filip you're right, Google disabled the APIs to do so in 2.3.3 :-(
