C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Alwil Software\Avast5\SpamConf\sc1.bin.tmp    0    TMP File    25/12/2011 15:13:48    A
C:\Documents and Settings\Steve\Local Settings\Temp\~DF13BC.tmp    507904    TMP File    25/12/2011 09:28:14    A
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Alwil Software\Avast5\SpamConf\sc18.bin.tmp1    1259322    TMP1 File    19/12/2011 21:57:08    A
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Alwil Software\Avast5\SpamConf\sc18.bin.tmp4    1259322    TMP4 File    19/12/2011 20:52:22    A
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Alwil Software\Avast5\SpamConf\sc18.bin.tmp2    5055880    TMP2 File    19/12/2011 21:57:08    A
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Alwil Software\Avast5\SpamConf\sc18.bin.tmp5    5055880    TMP5 File    19/12/2011 20:52:22    A

Is this an Avast problem?

No it is an avast problem, but the avast self-defence module doing its job.

Have ToniArts Easy Cleaner exclude the C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Alwil Software\Avast5 folder and sub-folders from its cleaning. I would also suggest excluding the main program folder C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast5 on your system.

What version of avast do you have as that is a very old path C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Alwil Software\Avast5 ?

If you had avast5 and updated to avast6 then it would retain the old folder name structure with ALWIL Software, etc. The company name changed to Avast! Software some time ago to be closer to the main product name.

If you did a clean install of avast6 then the new folder names would be like this, C:\Program Files\AVAST Software\Avast or C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\AVAST Software\Avast\ in XP.
Windows 10 Home 64bit/ Acer Aspire F15/ Intel Core i5 7200U 2.5GHz, 8GB DDR4 memory, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD/ avast! free 24.3.6108 (build 24.3.8975.762) UI 1.0.801/ Firefox, uBlock Origin, uMatrix/ MailWasher Pro/ Avast! Mobile Security

Hi DavidR,
Thank you for your reply and solution. My avast version is 6.0.1367. However, I do live in Spain and this is quite an old computer if that makes any difference.

elgringosteve, if I were you, I'll let the temporary files there and won't mess avast installation :)

Whether the computer is old or new shouldn't be an issue. If the computer (and avast in particular) is working correctly, then leave that system work as it should. I mean, TonyArts Easy Cleaner might be trying to delete some file or folder that it considers to be "crap" or alike, and avast is clearly saying to you "don't touch that, I'm somehow making use of it". Leaving those files there will not be the end of the world.

No it doesn't make any difference where you live or how old the system is; it is as I suggested that you simply updated from avast5 to avast6 from the avastUI and the old paths are retained. It would be just too much hassle for avast to change everything including registry references in an incremental program update like that. A clean install of avast6 would be able to do that, but it isn't essential.

Just exclude the avast folders as I mentioned in the TonyArts Easy Cleaner.
