No anti spam toolbar
« on: January 03, 2012, 11:30:17 AM »
Hi, I hope someone can help.

I have just rebuilt my computer - Win XP Pro, Outlook 2007, and installed and licensed Avast Pro.

However the antispam toolbar is not appearing in Outlook. There is no entry for it in the popup menu to enable/disable toolbars, and it does not even appear in the list of COM add-ins under Tools > Trust Centre > Add-ins. I do however get a splash screen for Avast when starting Outlook.

I have tried removing and re-installing Avast to no avail.

Cann someone tell me how to remedy this?

Having looked further, and compared my setup to one on another of our computers, I see that there is no AntiSpam section in the Additional Protection tab of the Avast User Interface.

Waht's going on?

have you tried avast repair and reboot ?

For a repair of avast. Windows, Add Remove programs, select 'avast! Anti-Virus,' click the Change/Remove button from the pop-up window, scroll down to Repair, click next and follow.

I do not believe that there is AntiSpam in avast! Pro:

The anti spam feature is only available in the avast! Internet Suit.

Errm, using the wrong license file was not a clever thing to do, especially not after downloading and installing the wrong software.  :-[

Thanks for the hints YoKenny and bob3160.

Thanks for the hints YoKenny and bob3160.
Glad you are now working OK.

Keep your licence file on a USB Flash disk for safe keeping.
