Avast taking longer to finish scans
« on: January 05, 2012, 06:55:05 PM »
When I performed a full scan with avast yesterday I noticed that it took a bit longer than usual and then today I did it again and noticed that it it slowly taking longer and longer. The files and folders scanned also increase a bit. Nothing is  detected. I have not installed anything recently. Is this a cause of concern at all?

thanks in advance for any help.

Just to be safe I ran Malwarebytes and performed both a quick and a full scan and nothing came up.

I though that accumulation of stuff might be the problem but I perform maintenance on my machine on a regular basis. By maintenance I mean clear all the internet stuff, updating windows, cleaning the machine physically. I don't know how to clear my software. This issue began about 2 days ago. Just to be sure, though, I will clear everything and see.

I can suggest Ccleaner.
Select either the slim or portable version or, Un-check any add-ons that may come with the full install.
