"no IMAP server defined"
« on: November 25, 2004, 08:09:12 PM »
Avast! 4.5.523 Home
Thunderbird for mail/news
IMAP server on a local Unix box
POP accounts on my ISP's server

Avast! works correctly, but occassionally when T-bird polls the IMAP server I get prompted for the password (it is saved by T-bird). I enter the password and click OK then I get a message pop-up with "Alert" in the title bar and the message "no IMAP server defined. Run Avast! Mail Protection Wizard"

I'm running XP so don't have the Wizard. Avast! is set to scan incoming IMAP mail.

Can anyone shed any light on what's causing this?

Thanks. I've added the code, we'll see if it works. Just out of curiosity, I can see why it solves the problem in the thread you pointed to, but why/how would it solve the problem I'm seeing? If that's a dumb question then I apologize, this is the first time I've used IMAP

Are you using a firewall?

Parish, tomorrow (26th November) will be a program update. Can you update and see if your problem was solved?

Untill there, if you want, you can try the build 4.5.536?

Technical: Thanks - I grab the update

Send me please by mail the log file (aswMaiSv.log) after the problem occurs (first of all add line 'Log=20' to avast4.ini under [MailScanner] for detailed logging).
Thank you.

Thank you. Actually it is a known problem in v 4.5.523, update should solve it.

The official update doesn't seem to be available today, but the BETA 4.5.536 solves this problem.
