Avast locks up computer with spawning windows...
« on: November 26, 2004, 04:45:03 PM »
Avast upgraded itself this morning on my WinXP SP2 computer. Now, every time I boot, a couple of seconds after start-up it starts spawning windows that have something to do with connecting to 209.115.132.52... 300+ in 30 seconds and the number keeps climbing.

I can't use the computer because this locks it up entirely. What the heck is going on? I'm writing this at another machine because mine is useless....

...and the URL it keeps giving is the URL of where I assume our mailserver is located. This is rrrrrrreally weird!!!

UPDATE:

Has something to do with it scanning e-mail... it's interfering with the POP3 check from Outlook Express), and throwing up hundreds of error messages about not connecting to our mail server.
