re-setting of password in Avast 6
« on: January 26, 2012, 04:34:03 PM »
I am trying to reset the password that protects my setting in Avast 6 but with no success so far and would appreciate any help... So far I have tried using the comman prompt instructions found on the help page within Avast program. I have also been in contact with iYogi but they too failed to change the password... We then un-installed Avast using there utility in safe mood, then proceeded to re-install... Again the password remains and I am unable to change it.... I also have a ticket posted with Avast support but am having no luck there so far either...

If anyone knows how to resolve this issue PLEASE help...
Kindest regards kiekie. :(

have you tried apps like revo uninstaller, as it gives you a god mode to remove EVERYTHING after the normal tools and uninstallers don't work or leave stuff behind.

we use it when removing antivirus apps like NOD that have the same password lock, and the user dosnt know the passwords, it just removes everything to do with NOD, all files, folders, system files that were installed and registry items to the LOT.
but like everything all care and no responsibility on this one so be carefull, and read the instructions on its use.

Other things you can do like this , but again be very careful on what you do
