Hi Gator71,

Try the repair of avast! installation.

To do this:

For Windows Vista & 7

1. Goto Start > Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features
2. Select and double click on 'avast! Antivirus'
3. Choose 'Repair' option from the left pane and follow the direction of the setup.
4. Reboot your computer

The error message indicates that one of your avast! file is missing or corrupt.
Try the repair of installation as that should replace the problematic file.

Nope i've re-installed/reformatted a few times and avast still conflicts with sandboxie...sandboxie works fine until I install avast!
The last thing I want to do is not use avast anymore, it's my fav free av, but I also love sandboxie so why can't they co-exist?

I don't suppose you are trying to run Avast! in Sandboxie?

Maybe you need to add mutual exclusions?

In avast, go to the File System Shield -> EXPERT settings -> exclusions. Add here the relevant files for sandboxie and save.

There might be additional exclusions necessary in other shields too.

BTW, probably you would want to stop / cancel any "sandbox - like"  function / feature of avast.

Is avast! listed on Software Compatibility of Sandboxie? ('Sandboxie Control' > 'Configure' > 'Software Compatibility')

Do I add the main exe to exclusions or what?

Well no problem here with sandboxie 6.32 and avast! free 6.0.1367 on my win7 (32bit) netbook.

I have made no changes in the avast settings for sandboxie, but sandboxie detected, ObjectDock, avast! antivirus and 7-Zip Shell Extension in the Sandboxie Control - Configure - Software Compatibility, section so perhaps you need to check that as nnoa110 mentioned. I had never ventured into that sandboxie software compatibility before.

I'm only using it on my browser, firefox 9.0.1 though.

Windows 10 Home 64bit/ Acer Aspire F15/ Intel Core i5 7200U 2.5GHz, 8GB DDR4 memory, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD/ avast! free 24.3.6108 (build 24.3.8975.762) UI 1.0.801/ Firefox, uBlock Origin, uMatrix/ MailWasher Pro/ Avast! Mobile Security

What is so weird is it works fine on xp avast/sandboxie...but on win 7 it gives me crap!

I also get 7 zip, avast and synaptics touchpad in software compatability
