TROJAN SIGNATURE TEST FOR AVAST!4
« on: August 20, 2003, 10:25:25 PM »
AVAST detects 2 trojans out of  3  :) It's seem to score better than NAV and McAfee (wich is no surprise).

Test done with PRO edition with latest updates and maximum settings.

i'm curious about the reply's from avast vendors.

Test can be dowloaded here  (intresting thread also..):

Be carefull, it includes REAL backdoors (so don't unpack, just download and scan).

Hm, it seems Haak has many time to play.:) Read the complete Thread and you will get your answer. With modifying  Malware you will be able to fool any AV-Programm.

well, yes Raman, like i mentioned before, it is a real intresting thread.

A discussion between 3 of the great and well known, anti-tojan programmers / vendors.

Even with modified trojans, Avast scores better than most other programs tested in that thread on DSL reports.

Seems Andears haak, has indeed much free time...his test has upset some vendors, and made some (the better ones) happy.

As it shows the difference in strength between the different scanning / detection methods used by different programs. Some pass, some fail....

Avast passes :)
